Radko Gudas' Son Surprises Him as Flag Bearer During Pre-Game Ceremony
The Anaheim Ducks honored players participating in the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, and one of the players' family members made a special appearance. Radko Gudas, a veteran defenseman, was delighted to see his son, Kvido, during the pre-game ceremony. Kvido, the son of the Ducks captain, held up the Czechia flag, surprising his father and the entire team.
Gudas, who was born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia, recognized his son's familiar face in a video posted by the Ducks on social media. He greeted his son with a warm smile and a fist bump, saying, 'Hey buddy, good to see you here. You look great, buddy.'
The Ducks captain then became a proud parent, directing his son to put the flag behind him. Kvido responded with a confident nod, saying, 'I know, Dad. I know what to do.'
This is not the first time Gudas will represent Czechia in the Olympics. He previously played in three games during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the last time NHL players participated in the winter games. Additionally, Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal will also represent Czechia at the games.
The ceremony was a heartwarming moment for the team, as family members and friends of the players joined in the celebration. It showcased the strong bond between the players and their loved ones, making the Olympic Games even more special.
